Job Description
US Congressman Ed Perlmutter (CO-07) is currently in the process of recruiting interns for his district office in Lakewood. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking for hands-on experience in a congressional office, or for those looking to enter politics/public affairs. We are currently accepting applications for our summer or fall internships. All interns would have the opportunity to work day to day alongside staff learning media relations skills, as well as policy and political skills. Duties may include writing, editing and distributing press releases; maintaining clippings archive (both hard copy and digital); answering phones; utilizing and maintaining digital video/ audio recordings for the web, with the potential to help produce podcasts and video press releases; data entry; assisting with events; assisting with constituent concerns and correspondence; and research for legislative initiatives.
Job Requirements
Students from the listed disciplines and with a general knowledge of politics and or public affairs are welcome to apply. It would be a plus for students in journalism to have the following experience: writing press releases; working with on-line media; and digital AV skills (video camera, voice recorders, digital editing; as well as uploading to the web).

All Red Rocks Community College internships are credit bearing and reserved for current RRCC students and RRCC alumni. Alumni are required to enroll in the internship for RRCC credit. Internship grants are available through the Internship Office for eligible students who pursue non-paid internships.
