Job Description This internship is designed to provide support and opportunity to understand program planning, activity facilitation, group management, and administration within a youth development program of a larger nonprofit organization. This will occur through shadowing, assisting, and/or performing specific duties in each of the areas, depending on the intern's needs, skills, and abilities. Responsibilities may be adjusted depending on the specific goals and objectives of the intern. 1) Assist YEP Staff with instruction at The American Mountaineering Center, local parks and open spaces, and in school classrooms. 2) Assist with indoor and outdoor climbing classes. 3-month position. 8-16 hours per week, unpaid. Possible extension into summer and/or part time employment. Climbing wall training provided. Hands-on experience in a fun work environment. Flexible work schedule.
Job Requirements RRCC Outdoor education coursework. Preferred bi-lingual in English and Spanish. Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds. Experience working with youth. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Desire to learn about and work in a nonprofit setting.
